1. Example – Rating Relationship as Duplicates when it is a Containment.

A – Logan Square – IL Centennial Monument
B – Logan Square
Upon research, we can see that IL Centennial Monument is a POI located within Logan Square. We research both A and B with a simple web search of the name. When we research A, we can clearly see that this is a monument and when we research B we can see that is a Park/Square. The monument is in the square. The Correct relationship here is B Contains A. It is therefore not a duplicate.

Refer to the Guidelines section 2.1 Rating Options.
B contains A should be selected when the Potential Duplicate Listing (B) contains the Original Listing (A).

  1. Example – Rating Relationship as Duplicates when it is Not Duplicates and no Containment.

A – William Church Winery
B – Red Sky Winery
Upon research, we can see that these are 2 different business, however they in the same building. Research the business URLs and you can confirm that they are 2 separate
business’s. We can also confirm this from street imagery. The Correct relationship here is Not Duplicates and no Containment. Please refer to the Guidelines section 2.1 Rating Options Not duplicates and no containment should be selected in cases where the listings clearly refer to distinct POIs and the POIs do not have a containment relationship.

3. Example – Duplicates

A – McCafferty Ford
B – McCafferty Ford Kia
Upon research, we can see that A and B are the same business. We research by looking at URL, address, street view etc. The relationship here should be Duplicates.
Please refer to the Guidelines section 2.1 Rating Options.
Duplicates should be selected in instances where the Original Listing (A) and Potential
Duplicate Listing (B) both refer to the same entity, or they refer to an entity within the original that is so minor as to not merit its own POI listing.
Please also refer to the below example. Section 3 Rating Examples.

It is very important you research very carefully when rating POI Duplicate Tasks. to fully determine the relationship between the Original Listing (A) and Potential Duplicate Listing
(B). Primary sources of information include each POI’s official website, officially maintained social media sites, and/or other authoritative primary resources (street imagery, local newspapers or magazines, or local postal service).
You should always refer to the Guidelines, especially if you are unsure of what relationship the result should receive. There are many examples that cover all relationship types so please refer to guidelines if in doubt.
