For maps evaluation purposes, a complete basic address in Malaysia should include:

Administrative divisions are excluded from the required address components with some exceptions which will be further elaborated in this document.
Addresses should be verified via national postal authority or official websites. This document will detail the rating rules specifically for Malaysia.
The chart below illustrates the general relation between address components in Malaysia, as well as the associated checkbox in the rating interface.
Examples
“Locality” in Malaysian context refers to the locality division as specified by postal authority. We also call this “Postal City”.
*Use Sub-Locality Checkbox when present to report issues regarding “Sub-District”, “District”, and “SubLocation“. If checkbox is not present, continue using “Country Specific Issue”.
The table below outlines the required (and optional) address components for general result types. The rule applies to all Maps Evaluation tasks with some exceptions to Autocomplete.

Results and official resources in Malaysia often return varying combinations of address components that are different from the minimum requirement. Here is how we can accurately rate the Address Accuracy despite those variances:

[Sub-location] results often do not have a classification (N/A) as they are considered as address type results.
However, there are exceptions. Here are some examples and how to rate them.

Addresses in [Federal Territories] (Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, and Labuan) should contain the federal territory name only once and there are no localities within the federal territories. Shortened names and recognized abbreviations of the federal territories can be accepted with no demotion i.e. [KL], [Kuala Lumpur], [W.P. Kuala Lumpur], etc.

For addresses of [POI/ Business within a larger entity], there is a slight difference from the typical [POI/Business] address. Minority of official addresses are different from standard address format, below are the different scenarios and how to rate them:
3.2.5.1 Street number + Sub-location
This scenario usually occurs in rural areas where roads are unnamed. We should rate according to the official address.

3.2.5.2 Street number + Sub-district
This scenario usually occurs in certain POIs (e.g. Petrol station) in rural areas where no [Street Name] or [Sublocation] are showing in the official address. [Sub-district] will thus become a mandatory component in this case. However, [District] component remains optional even if official address contains it.

Sometimes, [Sub-district] and [District] will appear in result address and they usually forgo admin type (e.g. Mukim/ Pekan/ Daerah), no demotion is needed if the admin type is not showing. To illustrate, here are a few [Sub-district] and [District] that result address might carry:

Below is a list of features that will follow POIs Without an Expected Address rule. This rule warrants the listed features with minimum address expectation: [Locality + State] or [Federal Territory] (or Locality/Federal Territory for AC). This list is not exhaustive and will be updated over time.
Half ‘n’ Half rule in Malaysia

To determine Approximate boundary, apply Half ‘n’ Half rule: Divide the space between the closest public street or next building in half to create a line. In this case [Jalan BBP 1] is the closest public street, the Approximate boundary should not go beyond half of this street.
Illegal U-turns
Every driver is reminded that making a U-turn at any road intersection, road junction or opening in a road divider that does not display the U-turn sign is considered committing offence under Traffic Rules 166/59 ( Rule 13 ), this includes toll gate/ tunnel/ school.
Safe/ Legal Crossing
In conjunction with Malaysia Road Transport Act 1987 Section 75 and other safety considerations, any pedestrian crossing meeting ALL the conditions below will be considered pedestrian friendly, when all possible danger/obstacles have been considered:
