For maps evaluation purposes, a complete basic address in South Korea has two variations:
New address format (Road address system):

Old address format (land-lot address system):

In 2011, South Korea replaced its old land-lot address system with a new road address system. Even though the new road address system is now official, many areas such as forest and farm land where roads and buildings hardly exist, the old system is still in use. Hence, for the purpose for evaluation, both address formats are considered as valid.
This document will detail the rating rules for Korean addresses, as well as other country-specific rules.
The chart below illustrates the general relation between address components in the locale, as well as the associated checkbox in the rating interface.
The table below outlines the required and optional address components for general result types. The rule applies to all Maps Evaluation tasks with some exceptions to Autocomplete. The upper table features the new address system whereas the lower table features the old address system.

Results for chain business must contain its branch name in title. If result name fails to return the branch name, rating for name should be rated as Partially Correct. When branch name is not shown on official website or if it cannot be verified, demotion is not necessary.

Missing a suffix in the title that represents a service type should be rated Partially Correct under Name Accuracy as it is considered a service-level mismatch.

Address components include a suffix that is important in Korean addresses. When an address component is missing a suffix, it can be confusing and misleading. Hence if no suffix is followed after an address component, rate Address Accuracy as Incorrect.

As mentioned in Section 2, there are two types of address system in Korea – the new address format based on road system and the old address format based on land-lot address system..
There are some result addresses which will include components from both address systems. We will rate such addresses according to the new address system, and flag the old address system components as “Incorrect – Country Specific Issue”.

In South Korea Address, the postal code is placed at last with the prefix (4). If the postal code is presented without the prefix “(4)“, rate Incorrect – Other Issue.

We can distinguish if a query is looking for a specific POI or is looking for a category with a locality modifier by the use of spacing.
For example : “서울 호텔 “ (Seoul Hotel) VS 서울호텔 (Seoul Hotel)
The former has a spacing between 서울(seoul) and 호텔 (hotel), which shows that it is a category with locality modifier. Hence, all hotels in 서울 (seoul) will be eligible for Excellent for relevance.
The latter, 서울호텔, has no spacing between 서울 and 호텔, which shows that it is a specific POI search. Hence, only 서울호텔 (Seoul Hotel) with an exact name match will be eligible for Navigational for relevance. The rest of the Hotels in 서울 (Seoul) would be rated as Bad. If there are no POIs with an exact name match,
would then be treated as a category with locality modifier.
When the query is a category query for convenience store (편의점), only convenience store results should be relevant to the query. Results which are mart, supermarket or grocery store (마트, 슈퍼, 마켓, 식료품점…) should not be relevant and therefore, relevance rating should be Bad.
– The term “충전소” is specific to LPG gas station. In South Korea, LPG Station does not sell other diesel/ petrol/ gasonline, relevance should be rated Bad if regular gas stations “주유소” were returned for the query “충전소” .
– On the other hand, users also do not expect to see LPG gas stations when searching for diesel/ petrol/ gasoline. Relevance should also be rated Bad if LPG gas stations were returned for the query “주유소”.
