3. Diacritics
When rating POI/Business names, rely on the official resource to verify correct diacritics and rate according to Maps Search Guidelines 6.3 as a minor or moderate misspelling.
Due to a lack of consensus among the national postal service, street imagery and official resources in this market, when rating address components, missing or incorrect accent marks (á, é, í, ó, ú), tildes (ñ), or umlauts (ü) do not merit an Address rating of Incorrect. (See Search GLs 7.1.3-7.1.4)
In this market, street names may be missing the street type “Calle.” This is expected behavior for this street type, it should not be marked as Incorrect Street Name. However, if the street type is missing on a street that is not a Calle (e.g. Avenida, Boulevard, etc.), the street type is Incorrect. If a street type is included, it should be correct. This is an exception to the instruction in the Global GLs (Search 7.1.3, AC 6.1.3, Address Verification 7.3.3).
Home-sharing vacation rentals, where a home-owner privately chooses to rent either a room or their entire home via a vacation rental website like Airbnb or HomeAway, do not qualify as a Business or POI with maps significance/intent (see: Search GLs 4.2). We rate these results as home businesses per Search GLs 10.6.4, “These businesses see customers by appointment only and have no regular opening hours… (like a store with regular hours where customers can drop by and choose from a large selection of merchandise).”
