UAE – Country Specific Rating Guidelines

“اسم المنطقة” in UAE context refers to the locality division as specified by the postal authority, and will be referred to as the Sub-Locality in this document.

Use Sub-Locality Checkbox when present to report issues regarding Sub-Localities. If checkbox is not present, continue using “Country specific issue”.

Region / State (الإمارة): is an optional component for all type of address.

Postal Code is a mandatory component only for addresses in the Emirate of Sharjah. Makani number is not a mandatory component.

The table below should be used to check the required address components for results in Search & AC:

We accept Addresses displayed in either Arabic or English. When an address is showing a mixed script of both Arabic and English, please select “Incorrect – Language/Script issue” for Address Accuracy regardless of the language of the query.

We accept result names in either Arabic or English, however if a result name is shown with both Arabic and English together, please rate Name Accuracy as “Partially Correct”.

Presenting a foreign result name using Arabic letters (transliteration) is accepted even if the business website does not include the Arabic version.

A transliterated name should be rated as Correct as long as it’s clear and the classification is correct.

Some addresses/businesses may use a building name in their address (i.e. businesses located within towers) instead of a building number. The building name will be treated just like a building number and must be present if it is listed on the official business website. The unit number should also be returned if it is listed on the official business website.

Some POIs may list the free zone they are located within in the address. The free zone area is equivalent to the sub locality and must be present if it is listed on the official business website.

When the result address for a POI does not list the free zone as an address component while the official website lists the free zone as an address component, the address is considered as Incorrect and “Sub-Locality” checkbox must be selected.

Sub-locality is not mandatory for long streets passing through multiple sub-localities. However, if such component is present, it has to be accurate. The result address should not be rated as Incorrect if such component is present, accurate and reflecting the Pin location.

Sub-locality is not mandatory for long street passing through many sub-localities (i.e. Sheikh Zayd street).

Postal codes are only used in the Emirate of Sharjah, this component is not mandatory in other emirates. If the POI has a P.O. Box mentioned in the result address, it must be correct. If the P.O. Box is not correct, then you should select the Postal Code checkbox.
