Use this rating if the TryRating result is a residential address (the rating should not be applied to POI and Business results!) and there is strong evidence the address does not actually exist. If sufficient resources arenot available to make an informed decision, mark it Can’t Verify instead.
How to check if an address exists:
First, check on the Karttapaikka website (https://asiointi.maanmittauslaitos.fi/karttapaikka/) is highlighted as the primary choice to verify if a result address exists. Official municipality maps should be used as an additional source when verifying if an address exists, these municipality maps can often also be checked to see if the address has a subdivision as they will show it in the result field while Paikkatietoikkuna (https://kartta.paikkatietoikkuna.fi/?lang=fi) shows the subdivision letters in the basemap. The municipality maps can be found using online search by writing: “*Municipality name* map” in Finnish. (Examples of municipality maps:
https://kartta.vantaa.fi/ and https://kartta.hel.fi/ ) The maps are also on the official website for the municipality. Additionally online search should be done to see if a business claims the address.
If we find that the address does not exist, you will find one of the following scenarios with the appropriate rating.
relevance as Excellent.
query. Rate relevance as Excellent and address as Incorrect – Address does not exist. The pin will be rated Can’t Verify.
which should be given a relevancerating of Acceptable.
Checkpoint: In some cases, you will find that an existing address can be found in a different locality. Always mark such cases as Incorrect – Address does not exist and not Incorrect – Locality.
