General Reminders
• In Address Verification, pin and address accuracy are rated only if a query address has been rated Valid or Invalid but Reasonable.
• Differences between Search Task and Address Verification Task:

Query Address Validity
POI Name in query address:
Business, POI (point of interest), and AOI (area of interest) names are not considered to be address components. If an address contains them, ignore them and rate based only on the components that remain once the name is removed.

A query address is INVALID when:

Reasonable Address
For an address to be rated as Reasonable, it must refer to a location that exists in the real world and be at least one of:
a. A small area that has at most five rooftops and is on one side of a block.
b. An area on one side of the street that is equal to or smaller than a block.
c. A small area that cannot be broken down any further in terms of address components
d.A plaza-like feature.
e. A residential complex that is equal to or smaller than two blocks in size.
f.An address/postal code that defines a small area that is within eyesight:

This address is Invalid because it does not point to a single unique location. This is a long road segment that spans several blocks, so it is Unreasonable. Please see GL. 4. Is This a Reasonable Address? Example [Turtle Rock Rd, Austin, TX].
Address Accuracy
When the query address contains a unit number but the response address does not, rate:
••• Correct: If the address is Valid and points to a single unique location without a unit number.
• Incorrect – Unit/Apt: If the address is Invalid without a unit number.
When the query address does not contain a unit number but the response address does, rate the response address Incorrect – Unit/Apt.

Pin Accuracy
The pin accuracy should be rated based on the QUERY address.
Pin rating for most features found under rooftops is based on the best available evidence for that feature’s location. That is, the more evidence that can be found to verify a feature’s location, the more precise the pin’s location must be in order to be rated Perfect.
