Brussels is bi-lingual, so the addresses can be returned in Dutch or in French, but may not be a combination of the two (it should either be in Dutch, or in French). If the address is both in Dutch and in French this should be rated Incorrect -> Country Specific Issue.
Remark: This does not apply to the Country Component België (which can be in Dutch while the other address components like the Locality and Street Name are in French).
Examples:
Wetstraat 10 – 1000 Brussel | Address in Dutch -> Correct |
Rue de la Loi 10 – 1000 Bruxelles | Address in French -> Correct |
Rue de la Loi 10 – 1000 Brussel | Address both in Dutch and French -> Incorrect (Country Specific Issue) |
Wetstraat 10 – 1000 Bruxelles | Address both in Dutch and French -> Incorrect (Country Specific Issue) |
In Flanders, all address components should always be in Dutch. When there is an address component in French this should be rated Incorrect -> Language/Script Issue
Examples:
Grote Markt 3 – 3000 Leuven Address in Dutch -> Correct
Grote Markt 3 – 3000 Louvain Locality is in French -> Incorrect (Language/Script Issue)
In Wallonia, the address should be in French; however, the locality can also be returned in Dutch like this is also the case for localities in other countries.
Rue Léopold 20 – 4000 Liège Address in French -> Correct
Rue Léopold 20 – 4000 Luik Address in French, locality is translated -> Correct
In Flanders, the name of a POI should be returned in Dutch (unless the official website has no Dutch name). If the Name is in a different language this should be rated Result name/title is in unexpected language or script.
Example: train station Gent-Sint-Pieters
Gent-Sint-Pieters Name in Dutch -> Correct Name
Gand-Saint-Pierre Name in French -> Result name/title is in unexpected language or script
The official website has a Dutch name for this station, so it should be in Dutch (https://bit.ly/3LQf5Tk).
Remark: Despite the official website has also a French page for French speaking customers it should still always be returned in Dutch as the result is in Flanders, and there is a Dutch Name.
