Query Address | Issue | Comment |
5290 Belt Line Rd, Dallas, TX 75254, United States | Query is not a single location |
The query is Invalid because it refers to four separate buildings, each one containing multiple businesses with unique unit numbers. This address is missing the unit number needed to be able to identify one specific rooftop. |
(See 3.4 of GLs – Examples of Invalid Query Addresses)
All query addresses that have been rated Invalid should be analysed to see if they are Reasonable. (See 4 of GLs – Is This a Reasonable Address?)
For an address to be rated as Reasonable, it must refer to a location that exists in the real world and be at least one of:
o The address in the result is as specific as it can be for the locale.
o The area should not include any visual impediments such as turns in the road or other buildings.
o Trees are not considered visual obstruction.
o If in doubt between a block and within eyesight, choose the most generous of the two.
5290 Belt Line Rd, Dallas, TX 75254, United States | Reasonable Address – Yes This query address is Reasonable because it refers to a small plaza-like feature with only 4 rooftops ⇨ Further clarification is in the next page. |
While street imagery shows more than 4 rooftops https://maps.app.goo.gl/GLK91XkNiNt7a2tm7?g_st=ic (see image below), research confirms that only 4 of these rooftops are located at number 5290 and the rooftop containing Buff City Soaps is number 5294 as all businesses located under this rooftop list 5294 as the street number (https://buffcitysoap.com/pages/store-locator?location=addison-tx, https://www.mendocinofarms.com/locations/Addison, https://lalalandkindcafe.com/locations/, https://glowsaunastudios.com/prestonwood-place/).
This is therefore a reasonable address.

See Section 3.2 General Considerations of GL for further clarification.
When the query address is an intersection the Query Address is Invalid. This is because it is not a full address or an actual address and does not refer to one clear location. (See 3.4 of GLs for further clarification)
Invalid query addresses:
An intersection is a reasonable address because the area is smaller than a block. (See Ch 4 of GLs for further clarification)

Note: While in Maps Search the pin should reflect the result address, in Address Verification, the pin reflects the query address (when the address is either Valid or Invalid but Reasonable).
The location represented by the pin should reflect the query address. A pin can be correct when other response components are rated incorrect.
See Section 6 Pin Accuracy of GL for further clarification.
