When the query is a street address specifying a locality, only addresses that match the locality should be given relevance rating Navigational. User location and viewport are not taken into consideration. All addresses in other localities are rated Bad for relevance.

”Near me” query
Sometimes queries include the phrase “near me”. In these cases the user is looking for results near their location. This means that the viewport is not taken into account even if it is fresh. Results closest to the user location are rated Excellent and other results are demoted according to their distance from the user location.

Partial address queries refer to non-specific addresses. They can be street addresses without localities or localities/sub-localities that have many possible user intents. In these cases we need to take into account the prominence of the result and the distance from the user location or from the fresh viewport.

If the address result has a wrong locality it should be rated Address: Incorrect – locality

Incorrect street number
When rating business/POI results, the address details should be verified on the official page of the business/POI. If there is a mismatch with the official source or a missing element, the relevant address element is rated Incorrect.

Pin rating for street numbers with many buildings
Often one street number refers to many separate buildings. If the exact location of a business/POI can be confirmed by street view images or official sources, the pin needs to land on the correct rooftop to receive a pin rating Perfect. If the pin lands on another rooftop with the same street number or within the property boundaries, it should be rated Approximate. In case we can’t confirm the exact location of the business/POI, any rooftop with the correct street number is rated Perfect
