Address Does Not Exist – Philippines

Use this rating if the TryRating result is an address (the rating should not be applied to POI and Business results!) and there is strong evidence the address does not actually exist. If sufficient resources are not available to make an informed decision, mark it Can’t Verify instead.

How to Check if an Address Exists?

1.Internet search: If address comes up, most likely this address exists. If there are no official sites to confirm an address, most of the time, when property is for sale, then information will be available on Property websites.

.

2.Check other map sources: If query address has building name, sometimes it comes up in other map sources.

.

[Bing maps, Google maps, openstreetmap.com]

3.Street imagery: Understand that in some instances there is no posted street number, and it is difficult to confirm. Please also try to see if older street imagery is available that may clearly show the street number.
4.If there is strong evidence address exist, and cannot confirm pin, rate pin Can’t Verify.

Please remember to include the comment that explains the logic behind your rating and include the link to sources used in a comment box in TryRating.

If we find that the address does not exist, you will find one of the following scenarios with the appropriate rating.

Response 1: TryRating will return the closest verified address. Rate relevance as Excellent.

^^

Response 2: TryRating will return the same address specified in the query. Rate

relevance as Excellent and address as Incorrect – Address does not exist. The pin will be rated Can’t Verify.

Response 3: TryRating will return the street without street number, which should be given a relevance rating of Acceptable.

X Checkpoint: In some cases, you will find that an existing address can be found in a different locality. Always mark such cases as Incorrect – Address does not exist and not Incorrect – Locality.

Please review following sections of Search guidelines to find more information and examples on ADNE topic:

1.2.Address Does Not Exist
1.3.Query Address Does Not Exist

ADNE Example:

User Query:

155 Maliksi St. Quezon City

Result Address:

155 Maliksi Street Pinyahan, Quezon City

Metro Manila Philippines

Result Coordinates

14.636839, 121.050387

Perform internet search. Entering the queried address into Google returns a resultwith a street number and street view on top of the list of search results. But this address should still be confirmed if it really exists.

Looking down at the results (below the Map area), there are results for Maliksi Street, but no street number. Then, several links that are not relevant to this address (e.g., images for 155, etc.). This is a sign that this address may not exist.

.

Check other map sources. Found this site https://tinyurl.com/4y8v2kjd which is dropping a pin at the street. But the pin is at the middle of the street (not on a rooftop). Again, this is a sign that this address may not exist.

Street imagery check: The pin coordinates from the result we are provided with dropped on a rooftop in Google Maps.

Verifying from street imagery, we can see the address is dropped at #65. Investigating further, this is the end portion of this Maliksi Street. There cannot be a street number #155 if this portion is at #65. Thus, we come to a conclusion that address does not exist.
