Service Level Mismatch

The service level for a business is an important information and it should be included in the name if the official name contains a service level.

Query : Intermarché

Result/Returned name in Try Rating : Intermarché

Category : Supermarkets

Correct rating for name accuracy : Name is partially correct

Explanation : The service level is missing. All the Intermarché stores have a specific level of service and it should be present in the name. There are 4 levels for Intermarché : Intermarché Hyper ; Intermarché Super ; Intermarché Express ; Intermarché Contact.

Here are screenshots of the different types of Intermarché supermarkets.

When the query is for a chain business without a service level, any businesses of that chain satisfy the user intent. If the name of the business reflects the level of service provided, it should be included in the result’s name. Please note this rule is valid for businesses of the same category (Carrefour and Carrefour City for example). Do not apply for businesses of the same chain but for different categories, for example E.Leclerc (supermarket) and E.Leclerc Bricolage.

Other examples

Query : Carrefour City

Result/Returned name in Try Rating : Carrefour Bio

Category : Supermarkets

Correct rating for name accuracy : Name is partially correct

Explanation : Carrefour Bio is a type of products sold in Carrefour stores (such as Carrefour Discount) but it’s not the name of the service level/store.

For Carrefour supermarkets, the service levels (therefore the correct names) are :

Carrefour (hypermarkets, no specific name) ; Carrefour Market ; Carrefour Contact ; Carrefour City ; Carrefour Express ; Carrefour Montagne. All of theses businesses are supermarkets. For these situations, the Name should be rated “Partially Correct” (if the service level is missing or if the name is misspelled).

Query : Supermarché Leclerc

Result/Returned name in Try Rating : Leclerc

Category : Supermarkets

Correct rating for name accuracy : Name is partially correct

Explanation : For chain supermarkets E.Leclerc, the name returned in Try Rating is often misspelled or incomplete. The correct name is “E.Leclerc” and not “Leclerc” only or E Leclerc (the dot must be present).

Category issue

Query : Carrefour Market

Result/Returned name in Try Rating : Carrefour Market

Category : Shoes

Rating for Name accuracy : Incorrect

Explanation : Even if you can find shoes at Carrefour Market, it does not reflect the general identity of the store and is misleading for the user. If the category of the business is wrong, the Name should always be rated “Incorrect”.

Accents

Extra accent added

Please be carefull with accents. Always verify the spelling of words you are not familiar with. Addresses (street names, localities) and businesses names could be misspelled. Official websites could contain errors as well, as in the following examples :

Official business name : Carrefour Drive Market Reims Clémenceau

Source : https://www.carrefour.fr/magasin/market-reims-clemenceau/drive

Press article title : “Decazeville avant et maintenant : la rue Clémenceau

Source : https://www.ladepeche.fr/2021/08/08/la-rue-clemenceau-9720506.php

.

The store and the article refer to the former president Georges Clemenceau. As written on the Wikipedia page and other relevant sources, the correct name is Clemenceau and does not contain an accent. https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Georges_Clemenceau

https://www.larousse.fr/encyclopedie/personnage/Georges_Clemenceau/11379 7

Accent is missing

Returned address in Try Rating: Rue des Benedictins 57000 Metz

Correct rating for address accuracy : Correct with Formatting issue

Explanation : the accents are missing on the word “Bénédictins” as visible on street imagery and in dictionnaries. When a word is misspelled but still recognizable by the user, the correct rating is “Correct with Formatting issue”.

Always refer to the correct spelling, even if a word is misspelled on an official source, you should consider the correct spelling.

Extra Space

Query : Rue de Talleyrand 51100 Reims

Result : Rue de Talleyrand 51100 Reims

Correct rating for the address : Correct with Formatting issue

Extra letter

Result/Returned name and address in Try Rating : L’Arrossoir 21 Rue Saint-Laud 49000 Angers.

Correct rating for the address : Correct with Formatting issue

Article “Le/La”

Article is added

Some businesses have an official name but people may refer to these businesses with an article before the name. For example, the official name of chain bakeries is “Brioche Dorée” but it could be called La Brioche Dorée. If the returned name in Try Rating contains an article and the official name does not, please consider the name as Partially Correct.

Other examples : Galeries Lafayette → Les Galeries Lafayette ; Arc de Triomple → L’Arc de Triomphe

Article is missing

When the article before the official name is missing, consider the name as Correct if people refer to this name without the article before. For example, the business “La Mie Câline” can be called “Mie Câline”.

Localities names

Please be carefull with the names of small localities in Try Rating. The name sometimes refers to a sublocality instead of a locality. It happens in small villages or in “Lieux Dits” that are attached with other localities.

Example : User and Viewport are near Orléans, France.

Query : Rue du Bourg Neuf

Result : Rue du Bourg Neuf 45470 La Chênaie

Correct rating for the address : Incorrect (with locality box selected).

Explanation : after a quick search we can see that La Chênaie is actually a sublocality in 45470 Loury. The locality is therefore Incorrect.

Other tips

.

Verify accents for Autocomplete tasks, they are often missing (name, address).

If you find a postal code that is not ending in 0, it’s probably because it’s a CEDEX code. Remember that CEDEX codes are not valid and not accepted in Try Rating. If you find a CEDEX code as a postal code, rate the postal code “wrong” and provide the correct data.

The best way to verify a local transit POI name and pin (bus strop, tramway) is street imagery.
