Most Common Mistake in Query Address Validity
A Valid query address is:
Unambiguous, pointing to a single unique location
Real, referring to an address that exists in the real world
A full comprehensive list of Valid and Invalid query address examples can be found in Guidelines Sections 3.3 and 3.4. Please refer to the examples when you write your reasoning.
Example:
Query Address: 東京都世田谷区梅丘1丁目22
A query address that does not meet any of these is considered Invalid.
Query Address: Invalid
Rated Invalid, because this is not a full address which points to a single unique location. It is missing a street number（号）. Query address points to everything inside the yellow box which makes the query unambiguous.
It is a reasonable query: No
It is not a reasonable query because this area can be broken down to smaller address components to such as 東京都世田谷区梅丘1丁目22-7 or 東京都世田谷区梅丘1丁目 22-12. Also, there are more than 5 rooftops in this area.
Do not assume that the query address is for セブン-イレブン 世田谷梅ヶ丘駅前店 because the pin falls on that building. Always rate the validity of the given address.
Example 2:
Query: 1-4-17, 物見山,東区,新潟市,日本
Query Address: Valid
All expected address components are present and accurate, pointing to a single unique location. Although in the vector map image, it looks like the place doesn’t exist, on the satellite map image, the empty land exists. Also, if you do further research, it can be concluded that the house was recently built, and the house is on sale (https://tinyurl.com/vbzsj3me ).

Example:
Query Address: 沖縄県石垣市字真栄里549番1
Query Address: Valid
Rated Valid, because this address is as specific as we can have in the real world. There are no building names, no unit numbers, etc.to differentiate the 2 buildings. This address shares with 2 different buildings with 3 stores- 西松屋, Good Smile コインランドリー, CoCo 壱番屋.

Most Common Mistake in Pin Accuracy
The location of the pin should reflect the query address. This differs from the Maps Search task, where the pin is related to the result address.
Query: 1-4-17, 物見山,東区,新潟市
Result Address: 新潟市東区物見山 1-4-17
Pin Accuracy: Next Door
Pin Accuracy rating is Next Door. Query address belongs to the empty land marked in yellow. When a pin drops on the immediate property next to the intended one, the rating will be Next Door.
“Immediate property” refers to the boundaries of the property as a whole, even if there is no rooftop (for instance, if it is an empty plot).
Most Common Mistake in Address Accuracy
Building name is a significant address component in Japan, because multiple buildings share the same address. When doing your research, make sure that the query address doesn’t belong to multiple buildings.
Example:
Query Address: 西新宿 1-19-2,新宿区,東京都
Result Address: 東京都新宿区西新宿 1-19-2
Query Address: Invalid
It is a reasonable query: Yes Address Accuracy: Correct
This address exists in the real world. But remember, the query address must contain enough components to point to a unique single location. In this case, the address component ‘Building name’ is missing, thus, Query Address is Invalid. But the address is small enough to be considered as a reasonable query, so it is rated Yes.
Address Accuracy is rated Correct without a building name because the query doesn’t mention a building name.
Query Address: シルバービル 西新宿 1-19-2,新宿区,東京都
Result Address: 東京都新宿区西新宿 1-19-2
Query Address: Valid
Address: Incorrect- Unit/Apt
Query address is Valid because the address has all the address components needed to point to a single unique location. Also, this building exists in the real world.
Address is rated Incorrect- Unit/Apt because a building name is missing. There is another building called セイコービルwhich shares the same address. Therefore, returning the address without a building name will not point to a single unique location.
Always include a comment explaining the reason for your ratings along with which Guidelines principles the address meets or violates.
Example of Good comments:
