Use “Incorrect-Address Does Not Exist” rating when the TryRating result is an address and there is strong evidence that the address does not actually exist. Consider that this rating is NOT applicable for business/POI type results. Also, if there are not enough resources available to make an informed decision, rate Can’t Verify.

How to check if an address exists?

1.Input coordinates into INEGI (http://gaia.inegi.org.mx/mdm6/) to get a sense of the street range, i.e. if the street number we return is 140 but INEGI shows a completely different range such as 1-45 then, more investigation is needed. But if the address is returned within INEGI, we can rate as normally.
2.Check street imagery to see if the street number is visible. Use other online map services and street level imagery to verify if the address exists.
3.Conduct online research using search engines to identify if the address is linked with a business or POI. Web search the address including these components [ street name + street number + locality]. Sometimes the address may be linked to a POI and it may be easier to locate the name of a POI than a street number.
4.Once you have completed the above steps, there are two possible scenarios:
a.Address is not shown on INEGI + street numbers are visible at street level but street number is not and web search does not return a POI/business, it is safe to assume to rate as Incorrect- Address does not exist.
b.Address it not shown on INEGI + street imagery is not available or outdated, the address should be rated as Can’t Verify.

In rare cases, there can be existing street address found in a different locality. Always mark such cases as Incorrect-Address does not exist. Do no rate them as Incorrect- Locality

Please remember to include in the comment section the logic behind your rating and include the link to sources used in a comment box in TryRating.

Please review sections of Search guidelines to find more information and examples of ADNE topic:

-7.2 Address Does Not Exist

-10.3 Query Address does not Exist

ADNE Example:

1.Input coordinates of the address into INEGI.
2.Check the surroundings of street imagery to see the street number range. https://bit.ly/2UrNQ8Y

Address is not shown at street level.

3.Conduct online research by pasting the address into a web search browser.

Once we finish all the steps, we have enough evidence to confirm that the address result does not exist. As the address does not appear on INEGI, it also not shown at street level and web search confirms that there is not POI/business associated to the address. We rate Address as IncorrectAddress does not exist.

Can’t Verify Example:

1. Input coordinates of the address into INEGI

2. Check the surroundings of street imagery to see the street number range.

3. Conduct online research by pasting the address into a web search browser.

INEGI does not show street numbers on the returned address and street imagery is not available. Also, there is no POI/business with the address. Therefore, we can’t tell if the address exists and we rate is as Can’t Verify.
