Research involves verifying the data through an official source or 3 unofficial sources.

Clearly unreliable sources should not be considered at all.

Use official resources like businesses’ official websites, national postal service websites, and whenever possible (Guidelines section 2.1.1)

If you can’t verify the data correct or incorrect, rate Can’t Verify.

Openstreetmap (OSM)  OSM and Geoportal show property boundaries and house

numbers and are helpful for verifying that the Pin falls on the correct building. It’s also helpful to research whether or not an Address exists

In the rare case that a result business has no website or the result Name is different to the Name displayed on the website check the below:

Street Imagery (e.g. Street View or Image Search) for store front signs
Search Engine research: yelp results, yellow pages, phone directories, specialised pages like Jamedo (doctors), tripadvisor (hotels) etc.

Official website/social media (always first step! – if the result address matches the official address, it is considered correct)
