In this document, we will cover some frequent errors we have encountered when reviewing Address verification tasks in the fr_FR market and provide examples to help illustrate.

Business, POI (point of interest) and AOI (area of interest) names are not considered to be address components. If an address contains them, ignore them and rate based only on the components that remain once the name is removed.
POI or AOI names are never address components, but query addresses that contain them can still be valid, when removing this extra information does not prevent the address from pointing to a single location.

To be valid a query address must be unambiguous and real.
The query must refer to an address that exists in the real world.

How to verify that an address exists in the real world
Use multiple research sources to determine if an address exists.
Do not rely on postal service alone.
You can use street imagery (to check street signages and street numbers), the IGN map on geoportail.gouv.fr, cadastre.gouv.fr, the official website of POI registered at the address and other reliable resource.
Cite them and explain your search in the comments.
A block is the smallest division of space surrounded by intersections. It is the distance from one intersection to another. Intersections with service roads are not considered a delimiter.
Review guidelines section 4. about reasonable address.
For an address to be rated as Reasonable, it must refer to a location that exists in the real world and be at least one of :
generous of the two.
When the query is the intersection of two streets it does not refer to one single location, therefore it is Invalid but it is still smaller than a block and should be rated Reasonable.
